WTF??!!!
I got in another car accident! Yesterday morning on my way to work, I was in another stupid car accident! I am fine, but my car is probably totaled!! My brand new beautiful car that I wanted for so long and finally got!! What the hell!??!!! I was driving on I-5 and some ass didn't check her blind spot and swerved right into me! It was pretty scary because there were a lot of cars at about 60-65mph but I escaped basically unharmed. My shoulder is bruised and my collarbone and shoulder blade were hurting last night, but today so far I am fine. Now I have to deal with getting a rental and getting my car fixed...yuck!!
Happy Halloween!
My first holiday in San Diego!! I had to work until 10pm on Halloween, thanks to the untiring efforts of a certain coworker to make my life miserable. (don't worry, she's just jealous!) But, you gotta do a lot more to keep me down!! So I did my Egyptian makeup on my last break at work and once we were done closing the store, I flew home! Kristen had my Captain Mo waiting for me and we got ready as quickly as possible...which isn't very quickly so we got a really late start!! We took the trolley to the Gaslamp Quarter, which is this cool part of downtown, dressed as an Egyptian and my roomie as a french maid. (Last minute costumes due to lack of time to prepare!) We didn't get there until about 12:30 but we made the most of it by getting really trashed really quick, dancing a but and then when the bars were kicking everyone out, we hit the streets and started mingling! The streets were packed with people in some great costumes! We hung out for a couple of hours talking to people and being pretty ridiculous. Don't worry, ladies, god's gift to all women was there! I will post pics as soon as Kristen gets home from work. All in all, a successful Halloween!
Sorry Beth, I fell behind...
I will do a better job of keeping my blog up to date with all the awesome things I do!! Its just that, unfortunately, I work a lot!! Right now I am looking for a different job closer to home because I have to drive really far. We'll see how that goes!!
Ever seen wildfires?? I have...
I drove to LA with Kristen (roomie) and Matt (her bf) to spend the day and check out the big city and all it has to offer. (Like pharmacies) We started our trip a little later than we had hoped, which can be attributed to 2 girls living together who will be "ready in 10 minutes" for about an hour. The drive there takes about 2 hours, and our first stop was to visit a friend of Matt's who sadly, has a medical condition which requires the herbal remedies to make her life livable. So we, being the good samaritans that we are, took her to the pharmacy to pick up her "medicine." Literally, we went to a pharmacy and she purchased ganja with her medical card!! California knows how to party!!! Then we went to Universal City and checked out some shops, had some dinner and walked around. On our way out of the parking garage, Matt noticed the Camp Pendleton fires!! We got out of the car and were watching the wildfires burn. It was crazy, I have never seen anything like it. It was night, so we could see pretty well. The fires were really bright and we could tell by the distance that they were devastating if they were so big and bright from as far away as we were. Hopefully everyone is okay. I have met quite a few people who lost their homes last year to the fires, it is really a threat around here! Don't worry, I live by the beach!

Life's a beach!
and I can ride my bike there!! Today I had the day off, which is rare because I never have Saturdays off, so I took advantage! Last night my roommates and I looked up a local bar and walked there to check it out. It was just the kind of hole in the wall I was looking for! Skanky (but friendly) barstaff, pool tables and a jukebox. And walking distance!! On the walk home we stopped by a taco place that is open 24 hours called Albeto's, which caused a debate with a couple of local boys at the bar who thought it was Alberto's, but I was able to confirm there is no r!
Then today we had to wake up kinda early because a potential roommate was coming to check the place out, but he ended up being the frat boy type which none of us are down for! His comments on kegerators and beer pong tables were a dead give away. Then Kristen and I went to Starbucks to start the day off right! Once I had my coffee, I packed my bag, got on my bike and headed to the beach!!! It was a beautiful sunny day and I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend it! I read a book and relaxed for a couple of hours, then headed back home. On my way, I stopped off at the Tijuana Estuary and road around in there. It was cool, I saw rabbits and birds (and some people). So far I still love it here! On Monday I am going to hang out in LA, so look for my blog on that and hopefully I will have some pics to go along with it!

...yes, you
Contrary to popular belief, Kezia did not move to San Diego with me...Sad, I know. So everyone start peer pressuring Kezia to move down here. (Once we are both down here, watch out Barbie Jean, you're next.)

My Tijuana Taxi cab confession
Oh man! The cab ride was hysterical! We walked across the border into Mexico and got a cab to take us to Puerto Nuevo to eat Lobster. The taxi broke down 3 times and the driver had to stop twice to ask directions. Luckily the 3 people I was with (roomies Kristen and Jim and Kristen's boyfriend Matt) were not freaking out over it, we were all laughing. Well, actually, the first time we broke down, there happened to be 2 shady looking characters on the side of the road, but they ended up being no trouble at all. The taxi driver had to keep getting under the car to fix it, which has its own charm, but to exit the car he had to kick the door out! And to top it off, the gas fumes were so bad in the car that Kristen was getting high and the windows wouldn't roll down. Also, the driver was flying by the other cars about 2 inches from them on the passenger side, where I was seated with no seatbelt! Man that lobster was delicious!
Day 2: Crack heads arguing in da hood
I love crack heads! They are crazy!! So that you all understand how at home I feel here, I'll elaborate...
Went for a run around my new neighborhood on Friday (SD Day 2) and realized that if one were to travel 2 blocks up, one would have the pleasure of being in the GHETTO!! HAHAHAHA!!! I love it, I saw 2 crack heads yelling obscenities at each other in the middle of the day without regard to the people around them, then start fake crying like babies at each other...home sweet home!
The part where my life gets even better...
I found a rad house to live in! This place is huge! and beautiful, with a courtyard, lots of palm trees, a fire place, a kick-ass kitchen, everything, its awesome! The roommates are cool as well. We went to Mexico yesterday to eat lobster and party! Now I can say I have walked to another country! In the last week I have been in Canada (Whistler trip, another blog), Washington, Oregon, California and Mexico! (Pictures on other blogs to follow) What a week! On Tuesday its back to work, but I am optimistic that my job won't suck, and so far my life down here rules!

The drive to San Diego aka The time of my life!!!
For starters, WOW!! This is probably the most amazing thing I'll ever do by myself. If not ever, than for a while, and if I do top it, well dang, my life is pretty sweet! Starting in Tacoma (253 til I die) on Monday, Sept 22: I left a little later than planned because we got home pretty late from Whistler, BC (see other blogs) and only drove about 4 hours to Eugene, OR for the night. Big-ups to the Motel 6, its cheap and clean (basically). So glad I stopped when I did becuase I would've missed an amazing drive if I had gone at night. Driving south on the west coast is something to put on your to-do list. If you are thinking about it, get in touch with me and we can party in San Diego and maybe go to Mexico. The goal for the week is to be in all 3 North American countries!
Anyhow, I digress...Let's see, oh, so I left Eugene in the morning on Tuesday and headed south. I was entering the mountains and it was so beautiful! Lots of trees. I put on Versions (if you don't know that CD, look it up! It is a Thievery Corp compilation of some kind and it is great!) and proceeded to handle my business. So there I was in Southern Oregon, just cruising in my brand new car, with great tunes, handling my business and I see a sign "California Border Agricultural Inspection: all cars must stop" So I rolled down the windows, put my shades on my face and a sucker in my mouth and crossed the border. Eh hem...CALI BABY YEAH!!!! My official entry into my new home sweet home! (but 253 til I die)
Goal for the week: Be in all 3 North American countries!
