My Tijuana Taxi cab confession

Oh man! The cab ride was hysterical! We walked across the border into Mexico and got a cab to take us to Puerto Nuevo to eat Lobster.  The taxi broke down 3 times and the driver had to stop twice to ask directions.  Luckily the 3 people I was with (roomies Kristen and Jim and Kristen's boyfriend Matt) were not freaking out over it, we were all laughing.  Well, actually, the first time we broke down, there happened to be 2 shady looking characters on the side of the road, but they ended up being no trouble at all.  The taxi driver had to keep getting under the car to fix it, which has its own charm, but to exit the car he had to kick the door out! And to top it off, the gas fumes were so bad in the car that Kristen was getting high and the windows wouldn't roll down.  Also, the driver was flying by the other cars about 2 inches from them on the passenger side, where I was seated with no seatbelt!  Man that lobster was delicious!

Day 2: Crack heads arguing in da hood

I love crack heads! They are crazy!! So that you all understand how at home I feel here, I'll elaborate...

Went for a run around my new neighborhood on Friday (SD Day 2) and realized that if one were to travel 2 blocks up, one would have the pleasure of being in the GHETTO!! HAHAHAHA!!! I love it, I saw 2 crack heads yelling obscenities at each other in the middle of the day without regard to the people around them, then start fake crying like babies at each other...home sweet home!

The part where my life gets even better...

">

I found a rad house to live in! This place is huge! and beautiful, with a courtyard, lots of palm trees, a fire place, a kick-ass kitchen, everything, its awesome!  The roommates are cool as well. We went to Mexico yesterday to eat lobster and party! Now I can say I have walked to another country!  In the last week I have been in Canada (Whistler trip, another blog), Washington, Oregon, California and Mexico! (Pictures on other blogs to follow) What a week! On Tuesday its back to work, but I am optimistic that my job won't suck, and so far my life down here rules!

The drive to San Diego aka The time of my life!!!

For starters, WOW!! This is probably the most amazing thing I'll ever do by myself.  If not ever, than for a while, and if I do top it, well dang, my life is pretty sweet!  Starting in Tacoma (253 til I die) on Monday, Sept 22: I left a little later than planned because we got home pretty late from Whistler, BC (see other blogs) and only drove about 4 hours to Eugene, OR for the night. Big-ups to the Motel 6, its cheap and clean (basically).  So glad I stopped when I did becuase I would've missed an amazing drive if I had gone at night.  Driving south on the west coast is something to put on your to-do list.  If you are thinking about it, get in touch with me and we can party in San Diego and maybe go to Mexico.  The goal for the week is to be in all 3 North American countries!

Anyhow, I digress...Let's see, oh, so I left Eugene in the morning on Tuesday and headed south. I was entering the mountains and it was so beautiful! Lots of trees.  I put on Versions (if you don't know that CD, look it up! It is a Thievery Corp compilation of some kind and it is great!) and proceeded to handle my business.  So there I was in Southern Oregon, just cruising in my brand new car, with great tunes, handling my business and I see a sign "California Border Agricultural Inspection: all cars must stop"  So I rolled down the windows, put my shades on my face and a sucker in my mouth and crossed the border.  Eh hem...CALI BABY YEAH!!!!  My official entry into my new home sweet home! (but 253 til I die)

Goal for the week: Be in all 3 North American countries!
